This past Saturday Professor Eduardo “Anjinho” Baiao conducted a 3 hour seminar at the Institute of Martial Arts. In addition to being one of the best referee’s in the world, Anjinho is also a very talented third degree black belt! The seminar started off with very good partner drills to get warmed up. After every one was warmed up, Anjinho spent the first half of the seminar exploring different options from various top positions. He went over his favorite ways to submit from mount as well as key details on how to pass some of the more annoying guards
At the half way point we all took a break and were treated with Coconut Water, courtesy of Anjnho! Every one was very refreshed and ready for the second half of the seminar which focused on the bottom positions. It all started off with a submission and than from there different sweeps and set ups from half guard, and deep half guard.
To end the seminar we did a little training which was very nice. After drilling the techniques and grappling with the concepts it was nice to have an opportunity to apply what we learned. Obrigado to Anjinho for coming conducting a fantastic seminar, we look forward to more seminars and exchanges of knowledge in the future!
