As San Jose, CA IMA Head Instructor, 5x World Champion and 2012 Pan Ams Champion – Caio Terra embark on his Asia Tour he leaves with encouraging words for students, fans and friends alike…..
“It’s easy to find a mistake and evolve from fixing it – It’s hard to find someone trying to do so.
It’s easy to find mistakes when you are away from your comfort zone – It’s hard to try to find mistakes when everything seems to work.
It’s easy to find a move you never seen before – But hard to find improvements inside the moves you think you are already good enough at it.
It’s easy to ask a question – Hard is to find a question. Hard is trying to find the mistakes on the moves you don’t believe they work for you (instead of blaming on your body type or saying it’s not your game). But most of the times that same person who finds all this hard and thinks that have no time to study BJJ and improve his moves, has time to workout. Has the time to get stronger so he can rely better on his phisycal abilities.
Speed, strenght, flexibility, all help, but what really help (specially when you are tired) is your technique.
You can work on your phisycal abilities, but without the right technique, it will be meanless.
When I started doing BJJ I was 16/17 and had less than 100 pounds. If I didn’t believe on technique over strenght I would have given up.Do not give up, BJJ is for everyone!”
