Last week we held our first official belt ceremony in over a year. It was a very surreal and emotional day for me as 6 months ago we didn't know if, or even when we would re-open.
Congrats to everyone who was promoted! Special congrats to Carlos on becoming the 21st black belt promoted from the Academy! Carlos is one of the most consistent and dedicated individuals you will ever meet. His discipline and love for jiu jitsu is inspiring. I don't think he has missed a morning class (except when traveling) the entire time time hes been at the academy. To many more years of laughs, Jiu Jitsu and friendship!
Congrats also to everyone who earned their belts. The journey is a hard one, but one of the most rewarding. You'll learn so much more than just Jiu Jitsu, you will learn about yourself and who you truly are in the process. You will learn to problem solve and think Jiu Jitsu on and off the mat. In the end the belt won't be the only reward as you will create life long friendships. This is the true beauty of Jiu Jitsu.
